Brownbanded cockroaches get their name from the pale brown bands which run across the wings of the adult, but more noticeable on the body of the nymph. Adults are about 1/2” long.  Light brown to brown in color, with brown head, wings darker at base but paler towards tips, female darker than male. Bands are more noticeable in nymphs than adults. Female carries egg capsule (light brown about 1/4” long) then glues to ceilings, doors, picture frames, furniture, and in closets.  They are usually found throughout the house in high locations, closets, and heat-generating appliances.
